140th Canton Fair Kicks Off in Guangzhou, Celebrating 70 Years of Trade
The 140th Canton Fair has begun in Guangzhou, showcasing innovative products and celebrating its 70th anniversary until November 4.
Guangzhou, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : The 140th Canton Fair commenced on October 15 in Guangzhou, located in southern China’s Guangdong province. This year’s event marks the 70th anniversary of the fair, which spans an impressive area of 1.55 million square meters and will run until November 4.
The current fair emphasizes trends toward “new, green, and intelligent” products. It has attracted merchants from around the globe for discussions and networking opportunities. Among the 32,000 enterprises participating, over 11,000 are recognized as high-quality businesses. Notably, 64% of these companies are implementing new technologies such as industrial internet and artificial intelligence. The fair also boasts a record percentage of new and environmentally friendly products, accounting for 23.2% and 26%, respectively.
During this edition of the Canton Fair, more than 700 new product launches are planned, reflecting a 15% increase in the number of launches compared to previous years. The first phase of the fair, focusing on advanced manufacturing, will take place from October 15 to 19. This segment features over 25,000 booths across a total exhibition area of 520,000 square meters, with participation from more than 12,000 enterprises.
The Canton Fair continues to be a significant platform for international trade and innovation.
