Abhijit Dipke Claims Police Surrounding His Residence
Abhijit Dipke alleges plainclothes police are monitoring him ahead of a planned protest in Connaught Place, raising security concerns.

New Delhi, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : Abhijit Dipke, founder of the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP), took to social media on Thursday to claim that his residence is surrounded by plainclothes police officers who are keeping a close watch on him. He expressed his concerns in a post on the platform X, stating, “The area where I am staying is surrounded by plainclothes police. They are constantly monitoring me. A white Scorpio is also following me everywhere.”
This statement comes just a day before a planned protest by the CJP at Central Park in Connaught Place, New Delhi. Authorities and police are on high alert regarding this event, which has also led to a petition being filed in the Delhi High Court.
Earlier on Thursday, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) issued a public notice announcing that Central Park would be closed to the public on Friday and Saturday for administrative reasons.
The Delhi High Court recorded assurances from the Delhi police regarding the management of the proposed protest by the CJP and its founder. The bench, comprising Acting Chief Justice Nitin Vasudev Sambre and Justice Sanjay Sharma, stated that all necessary legal measures would be taken by the authorities.
The petition in the High Court was filed by Anil Kumar Gupta, a street vendor in the Palika Bazaar located in Connaught Place. He seeks to prevent the CJP from holding any demonstrations, protests, marches, or gatherings at Central Park or any other unspecified location.
Senior advocate Sachin Puri, representing the petitioner, informed the court that the proposed protest could severely disrupt business activities in Connaught Place. He highlighted that the timing coincides with a major Hindu festival and a busy weekend, posing a risk of financial losses for local businesses.
Puri requested that Dipke be directly prohibited from protesting, mentioning that traders in the area have already suffered losses over the past week. He warned that continued disruptions over the weekend could lead to further economic damage.
The court was informed that Dipke had been served a notice via email. Additional Solicitor General Chetan Sharma, representing the central government and Delhi police, assured the court that all necessary steps would be taken to manage the proposed activities.
The bench took note of this assurance and scheduled the next hearing for November 3.
