
Aizawl, July 2: A horrific road accident occurred late Thursday night near the Venglai East-Diakakon border in Kolasib district, Mizoram. Three young men from the Sribhumi district lost their lives, while two others sustained serious injuries.
According to reports, a car heading towards Aizawl collided with the rear of a truck parked by the roadside. The impact was so severe that the truck was dragged approximately 50 meters before overturning, while the car was crushed underneath, suffering extensive damage. Police arrived promptly to initiate rescue operations. They managed to extricate two individuals alive, but unfortunately, three young men were declared dead at the scene. Their bodies were recovered early Friday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Saddam Hussain (27), son of Suleiman Ali from Hogargul village; Masook Ahmed (25), son of Riaz Uddin from Gulchara Kazitila; and Khalid Ahmed (19), son of Moiz Uddin. All three were residents of the Patharkandi area in Sribhumi district.
Upon receiving news of the accident, police and rescue teams rushed to the site and conducted an extensive rescue operation. The injured were transported to the hospital for treatment, while authorities launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. The untimely deaths of these three young men have plunged their community in Sribhumi into mourning.
In a related incident, a severe road accident occurred in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on the Ayodhya-Lucknow National Highway on Thursday morning. This tragic event resulted in the immediate deaths of three individuals, with four others suffering serious injuries. The accident took place in the Raunahi police station area near Mubarakganj when a speeding Scorpio collided with a truck ahead. The impact was so intense that the Scorpio was left severely mangled.
Reports indicate that the Scorpio was traveling at high speed from Lucknow when it crashed into the truck. Following the collision, chaos ensued at the scene, prompting nearby residents to rush to assist. Local residents notified the police, who, along with rescue teams, arrived promptly to the location.
