Uttar Pradesh Minister Responds to Akhilesh Yadavs Claims on Voter Registration

Lucknow, February 9: Uttar Pradesh Minister Narendra Kashyap has hit back at Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav regarding his statements on the State Information Register (SIR). Kashyap accused Yadav of misleading voters since the SIR’s inception in the state.

In a conversation in Lucknow, Minister Kashyap referenced Yadav’s press conference, noting that as a former Chief Minister, Yadav is well aware of the legal process for filing objections if fraudulent signatures are found on Forms 6, 7, and 8. Instead of following legal procedures, Kashyap claimed Yadav is spreading confusion through the media.

Kashyap emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aims to ensure that no voter is left unregistered. He stated, “Our effort is to ensure that every eligible voter registers and participates in the democratic process. We believe that every voter in Uttar Pradesh strengthens democracy.”

The minister expressed confidence in the government’s performance, stating, “We expect all voters to support us.”

Regarding the upcoming SP rally, he questioned the purpose of gathering individuals whose votes are either unregistered or deleted on February 16. “What does the Samajwadi Party aim to prove with this rally?” he asked.

On opposition concerns about the India-U.S. trade deal, Minister Kashyap remarked that when the U.S. raised tariffs, the opposition made a fuss. He highlighted that Prime Minister Modi and the government have consistently prioritized the interests of farmers and traders, successfully negotiating with the U.S. to reduce tariffs.

Kashyap suggested that leaders of the opposition alliance should commend the Prime Minister instead of making baseless allegations. “The world knows that PM Modi stands up for India’s rights and remains connected with the common people,” he concluded.
