Lucknow, February 12: The Uttar Pradesh Assembly presented the budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 on Wednesday. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya stated that this budget will contribute to the development of a prosperous Uttar Pradesh.
Maurya emphasized that the budget, introduced by Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision. It focuses on empowering four key pillars: the poor, youth, women, and farmers, embodying the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” for inclusive progress.
He noted that the budget is a significant step towards creating a developed Uttar Pradesh as part of a developed India.
Regarding the central government’s new guidelines on “Vande Mataram,” Maurya welcomed the initiative, stating it pays true homage to Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay on the 150th anniversary of the song’s creation.
Minister Jaiveer Singh commented that the budget is well-planned and inclusive, outlining a roadmap for transforming Uttar Pradesh into a developed state like India.
He questioned the need for political debate over “Vande Mataram,” asserting that the song is dedicated to the nation and should be respected by all.
Minister Nitin Agarwal remarked that this year’s budget reflects the government’s commitment to the welfare of the poor, farmers, youth, and women, continuing to prioritize their well-being.
Minister Ashish Singh Patel stated that the budget meets the expectations of the people of Uttar Pradesh. He highlighted initiatives across various sectors, including education, infrastructure development, social services, and employment, marking the seventh consecutive budget presentation.
Minister Sanjay Nishad declared that under the Chief Minister’s guidance, this is the largest budget in history, aimed at making Uttar Pradesh the best state in the country.
