Delhi Police Uncovers Cross-Border Drug Syndicate, Freezes ₹3.72 Crore in Cash

Delhi Police dismantle a major drug syndicate, seizing ₹3.72 crore in cash and arresting eight suspects involved in the operation.

New Delhi, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : Delhi Police have successfully dismantled a significant cross-border drug syndicate, freezing ₹3.72 crore in cash. Officials announced the operation on Monday, revealing that this seizure is linked to a network involved in drug trafficking.

The freezing order issued is reportedly the largest amount since the establishment of the competent authority for North India in 1976. Preliminary investigations suggest that the recovered cash may be connected to the illegal drug trade. Authorities are conducting a thorough financial investigation to trace the source of the funds, the transaction network, and the individuals involved.

In an official statement, Delhi Police stated, “The South-East District of Delhi Police has achieved a major breakthrough in the investigation of an FIR registered under the NDPS Act at the Okhla Industrial Area police station. We have obtained a freezing order for illegal cash amounting to ₹37,198,560.”

During the investigation, police arrested eight alleged members of the drug supply network and seized approximately 1.383 kilograms of ‘smack.’ The inquiry began with the arrest of local drug dealers, which led to the identification of intermediaries, suppliers, and stockists operating in Faridabad, Haryana.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Kiran alias Ram Prasad, Neeraj alias Thapa, Ashok alias Ramu, Maniya alias Suman Pathak, Vicky, Guddu, Sunil alias Nanhe, and Gopi Singh. Authorities reported the recovery of a substantial quantity of ‘smack’ during the investigation, along with illicit cash linked to the drug trade.

As part of the financial investigation into this syndicate, the freezing order for the ₹3.72 crore cash has been executed. Accused Sunil alias Nanhe has received a copy of the freezing order, while Gopi Singh is currently incarcerated in Faridabad on another case.

Officials have indicated that the freezing order will also be formally delivered to Gopi Singh through the prison administration. The investigation is ongoing, with police working diligently to uncover all financial connections related to the case.
