Lucknow, April 18: The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has once again demonstrated that policies are not just confined to paperwork but are effecting real change on the ground. For the academic year 2026-27, a total of 103,439 children have been enrolled under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, providing new opportunities for thousands of underprivileged families.
Initial data indicates that this number is likely to increase rapidly in the coming phases, as the enrollment process is still ongoing. The districts of Lucknow, Varanasi, Bulandshahr, and Badaun are leading in enrollments.
According to statistics, Lucknow has enrolled 7,952 children, Varanasi 4,957, Bulandshahr 4,154, and Badaun 3,599. Parents are increasingly confident and are taking steps for their children’s brighter futures.
An official stated that the government’s initiative has had a significant impact on families at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder. Children from economically weaker sections are now gaining access to education in private schools, laying a strong foundation for equal opportunities in education. This initiative is proving to be transformative in promoting social justice and inclusive development.
The Yogi government is serious about the education of children who are deprived of their rights, facilities, or opportunities. The entire process has been made transparent and straightforward. Through an online application and selection system, eligible children are benefiting without any discrimination. This is why public trust and participation in the scheme are continuously increasing.
The Basic Education Department believes that during the enrollment process, which will continue until July, more eligible children will be connected to this initiative. The top ten districts in RTE enrollment include Lucknow (7,952), Varanasi (4,957), Bulandshahr (4,154), Badaun (3,599), Moradabad (3,246), Agra (3,086), Kanpur Nagar (2,476), Gorakhpur (2,352), Aligarh (2,320), and Ghaziabad (2,209).
