UPSC Recruitment 2026: Applications Open for 48 Positions Including Assistant Professors

New Delhi, July 11: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the recruitment of 48 positions across various departments through a notification on its official website.

Among the 48 vacancies, there are 2 positions for Assistant Soil Chemists in the Soil and Land Use Survey of India under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare. Additionally, 1 Prosecutor position is available in the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is offering 9 positions for Specialist Grade III Assistant Professors in Clinical Hematology, 10 in Endocrinology, and 13 in Neonatology. There are also 3 positions for Specialist Grade III Assistant Professors in Nuclear Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine, along with 1 position each in Pediatric Cardiology and Surgical Gastroenterology.

Furthermore, the National Centre for Vector Borne Diseases Control (NCVBDC) in New Delhi has 2 Deputy Assistant Director positions (Entomology) and 1 Entomologist position (CCCO). The Ministry of Home Affairs has 1 Junior Scientific Officer (Toxicology) position in the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, and the Ministry of Law and Justice has 1 Supervisor (Legal) position available.

The online application process commenced on July 11 and will close on July 31. Interested candidates can submit their registration forms on the UPSC official website until 6 PM on the deadline date.

Applicants must hold a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognized institution or university. Additionally, candidates are required to have 1 to 3 years of experience in the relevant field for all positions.

The maximum age limit for applicants ranges from 30 to 43 years, depending on the position, calculated based on the application deadline. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations, but the maximum age limit for all categories cannot exceed 56 years.

Selection of eligible candidates will be based on a recruitment test (RT) or combined recruitment test (CRT), personal interviews, and document verification. Selected candidates will receive salaries based on the 7th CPC pay matrix, ranging from pay levels 7 to 11, along with additional benefits and allowances.

While filling out the application, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee online, which is set at ₹25 for General/EWS/OBC (Male) applicants. SC/ST/PwBD candidates and women from all categories are exempt from the registration fee.
