Major Police Action in Rudrapur: One Arrested in POCSO Case Involving Minor

Udhamsingh Nagar, July 11: In a significant development in a serious POCSO Act case involving a minor, police in Rudrapur, Udhamsingh Nagar district, have made a major arrest. One named suspect has been apprehended, while a teenager, identified as the main accused, has been placed under protective custody as per regulations.

Under the direction of SSP Ajay Ganpati, police teams, aided by the SOG and surveillance units, gathered technical evidence. They conducted a thorough analysis of footage from over 100 CCTV cameras.

Based on the investigation, police arrested Manoj Kumar (32). Additionally, sections 16 and 17 of the POCSO Act have been added to the case based on the evidence collected during the inquiry.

Authorities report that efforts to apprehend other suspects are ongoing, and the investigation continues. SSP Ajay Ganpati emphasized the police’s zero-tolerance policy towards crimes against women and children, asserting that strict legal action will be taken against all offenders.

City CO Vibhav Saini stated that two suspects have been identified in the case of gang rape. One minor suspect has been taken into protective custody, while the hotel owner has been arrested. Police are actively pursuing the remaining suspects and aim to present them in court as soon as possible.
