UPSC Preliminary Exam Concludes in Ghaziabad Amidst Tight Security

Ghaziabad, May 24: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted its Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2026 in Ghaziabad on Sunday, ensuring a secure and peaceful environment. Thousands of candidates participated across 45 examination centers established by the administration in the district. The exam was held in two sessions: the first from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and the second from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

A crowd of candidates gathered outside the exam centers from early morning. In light of security, the administration made extensive arrangements. Sector magistrates, zonal magistrates, intelligence unit officials, and center managers were deployed at all centers. Additionally, CCTV cameras and security personnel were stationed to ensure the exam proceeded smoothly.

Candidates exiting the exam reported that the question paper was of moderate to difficult level. Candidate Shivam noted that the exam was as challenging as in previous years. He mentioned that the paper was lengthy and required deep understanding and analytical skills for many questions.

Shivam also highlighted that questions related to decision-making were tough but manageable due to thorough preparation. He expressed optimism about his performance and hopes for favorable results.

Another candidate, Shaista Malik, pointed out that several questions were based on current affairs from 2023. She emphasized the importance of regular study and in-depth preparation for success. According to Shaista, merely studying for long hours is insufficient; the study method is crucial. She advised students to engage in learning that helps retain information long-term.

Shaista also mentioned that she attended coaching classes, which emphasized regular practice and sustained study efforts.

According to the administration, attendance was recorded at 62.31% for the first session and 61.46% for the second. Many students remarked that this year’s question pattern was quite analytical and conceptual. Some found the history-related questions relatively difficult, while well-prepared students described the paper as balanced and appropriate for their level.
