New Delhi, 17 August (Kiran News). Monsoon rains continue to disrupt daily life across most parts of India, and Uttar Pradesh is witnessing intense rainfall this season. The continuous downpour, accompanied by thunder and lightning, has created difficulties for residents in many districts. Waterlogged roads have led to traffic jams, and fields have been flooded, causing damage to standing crops.

Relief from Heat, But New Challenges for Residents

While thunderstorms at night have brought relief from the heat, they have also added to people’s woes. In western UP, dense clouds remain, and the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted further heavy rainfall across the state.

Districts on Alert for Heavy Rain

According to the Meteorological Department, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, and Bijnor are expected to receive heavy rainfall. Most areas of Moradabad, Sambhal, Hapur, and Rampur are also under alert. Around 20 districts are likely to experience cloudy weather with thunder and lightning.

A warning remains in place for the Delhi-NCR region, where the pattern of sunshine and cloud cover is expected to continue. On August 22, heavy rain is forecasted for Varanasi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Gorakhpur, Deoria, and Azamgarh. Ballia, Mau, Kushinagar, and Sant Kabir Nagar districts may see significant rainfall from 21 to 22 August. Similar conditions are expected in Kanpur, Fatehpur, and the eastern districts.

Further Areas to See Intense Rainfall

Heavy rains are also expected in Hapur, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, and Mathura. Districts like Agra, Hathras, Kasganj, Bijnor, and Amroha are also likely to experience heavy downpours. Badaun, Lalitpur, Pilibhit, and Sambhal may see rain with thunder and lightning. The IMD has also predicted heavy rainfall in several other states across the country.
