Lucknow, February 16: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a strong statement in the Legislative Council on Monday during the discussion on the Governor’s address. He asserted that the state has transitioned from a ‘Fear Zone’ to a ‘Faith Zone.’ He stated, “There is neither curfew nor riots; everything is well in UP.”

CM Yogi criticized the opposition for their alleged disrespect towards the Governor, emphasizing that respecting the constitutional head is a collective responsibility. He accused the opposition of reflecting a negative mindset. According to him, the state has transformed over the last nine years from chaos and crime to discipline, from curfews to the rule of law, and from unrest to celebration. He credited the double-engine government for this change, highlighting its clear policies, good intentions, and decisive leadership.

He claimed that there have been no communal riots in the state since 2017. Previously, the situation was characterized by ‘One District, One Mafia,’ with extortion and illegal collections being commonplace. Now, a zero-tolerance policy is in place. The Chief Minister noted that Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a model of ‘Technology, Trust, and Transformation.’ He mentioned Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to set a new direction for the country in emerging technologies and AI, aligning Uttar Pradesh with this vision.

He stated that the state is on its way to becoming a revenue surplus state and is becoming a hub for investment, innovation, and transparency. CM Yogi remarked, “Development rooted in heritage is the foundation for a bright future.” He accused the Congress and the Samajwadi Party of disrespecting national symbols and places of faith for political gain. He highlighted the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the development of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, and the rejuvenation of major pilgrimage sites as symbols of a new identity. He asserted that places of worship are not just centers of faith but also of national consciousness.

The Chief Minister also mentioned cultural heritage projects, including the establishment of a memorial and university for Maharaja Suheldev and the installation of a statue of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar. He referred to the participation of millions of devotees in the Kumbh and Magh Mela in Prayagraj as evidence of increased trust in governance and security. A state once known for riots is now recognized for its Diwali celebrations, Dev Deepawali, and Rangotsav.

He revealed that over 219,000 police personnel have been recruited in recent years, with 20% of positions reserved for women. The number of female police officers has increased from 10,000 to over 44,000. He noted that the establishment of seven police commissionerates, cyber police stations, forensic labs, and a modern policing model has strengthened law and order. Twelve state-of-the-art forensic labs are operational, and forensic vans are available in all 75 districts. He also mentioned the revival of 34 companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary and the formation of three women battalions: Veerangana Jhalkari Bai, Avanti Bai, and Uda Devi.

He concluded that Uttar Pradesh has moved beyond its identity of fear, chaos, and distrust, entering a new era of development, investment, faith, and self-confidence.
