UP Congress Leader Criticizes Yogi Governments Election Promises for Women

New Delhi, August 26: Rajendra Pal Gautam, the UP Congress in-charge, has launched a scathing attack on the Yogi government and opposition parties regarding various political issues in Uttar Pradesh. He labeled the state government’s initiatives aimed at women as mere election gimmicks, welcomed Akhilesh Yadav’s announcements, and responded to Asaduddin Owaisi’s comments about Congress.

Speaking in Delhi about the UP government’s announcement to provide scooters to female students, Gautam questioned, “What have they been doing for the past nine and a half years? The façade they are presenting now will not work. This deception will not succeed. People are watching everything. They have not provided job opportunities, and education has become so expensive that many are being deprived. How will children study? There needs to be a focus on arranging funds for their education.”

He further criticized the ruling party, stating, “This party only divides people into Hindus and Muslims. They have given around 8,000 jobs to the SC-ST community while Dalit children have been protesting for years. The government cannot provide jobs and has made education costly. Instead of spreading hate, they should focus on improving the education system.”

Regarding the announcement of free bus services for women over 60, Gautam remarked, “They only make announcements. Why haven’t they implemented this until now? In Karnataka, we have already provided free bus services for all women, and our government has done the same in Tamil Nadu. They should focus more on women’s empowerment.”

In response to Akhilesh Yadav’s promise of providing ₹40,000 to women if the Samajwadi Party comes to power, Gautam said, “It’s good that he is preparing his manifesto. The Congress party is also working on its manifesto. We believe such initiatives will empower women and help them become entrepreneurs. If the government provides such support, it is welcome. However, I would like to add that we should also consider how every family can receive affordable and quality education for their children, create more job opportunities, and improve healthcare services. We will include these aspects as well.”

Gautam also addressed Owaisi’s remarks, stating, “Owaisi should study history. It was the Congress party that made Muslims Chief Ministers and Presidents. Congress has ensured Muslim participation in every sector, unlike any other party.”
