Unlocking the Power of Rudra Mudra: A Guide to the Practice
Discover the benefits of Rudra Mudra for physical and mental health, including how it activates the Manipura chakra.

New Delhi, October 22 (Daily Kiran) : Rudra Mudra holds a significant place in yoga and Ayurveda. These hand gestures, or mudras, are believed to balance the five elements within the body. Among them, Rudra Mudra stands out as a powerful practice that positively impacts both physical and mental health when practiced regularly.
This mudra is known to enhance energy, mental clarity, and physical strength. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Rudra Mudra activates the Manipura chakra, the third of the seven main chakras in the human body. This chakra serves as the center of fire and vitality.
In Ayurveda, Rudra Mudra is referred to as a remedy for digestive fire. Regular practice can provide relief from issues such as acidity, bloating, and constipation.
Named after Lord Shiva’s aspect of Rudra, this mudra is also known as the fire element mudra. To form Rudra Mudra, touch the tips of the index finger and ring finger to the tip of the thumb while keeping the middle and little fingers extended.
Yoga experts suggest that Rudra Mudra is particularly beneficial for individuals struggling with low blood pressure, as it improves blood circulation. Blood pressure is directly linked to circulation and the fire element. When the fire element weakens, the heart must work harder to pump blood throughout the body, leading to low blood pressure. The warmth generated by the thumb reduces constriction in blood vessels, facilitating better blood flow.
It’s important to note that Rudra Mudra should be considered a complementary natural therapy and not a substitute for modern medicine in serious health conditions.
