Udaipur, May 4: Panic erupted in Udaipur, Rajasthan, on Monday when the district and sessions court received a bomb threat. As soon as the information was received, chaos ensued in the court premises, prompting immediate action from security agencies.
According to reports, the threat was received around 8:30 AM, coinciding with the arrival of lawyers and individuals involved in ongoing cases. The administration swiftly ordered the evacuation of the court complex. Within minutes, the entire area was cleared, all gates were locked, and stringent security measures were implemented.
District police, along with dog squads and anti-terrorism units, were dispatched to the scene. Security personnel meticulously searched every room, corridor, and corner of the court to eliminate any potential threats.
The threat was reportedly sent via email. Senior police officials arrived on-site, initiating a technical investigation to trace the source of the email and identify those responsible.
The sudden turn of events led to a large crowd gathering outside the court, particularly near the court circle, causing temporary traffic disruptions.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumors. Officials assure that all necessary precautions are being taken and that the situation is under control. So far, no suspicious items have been found, but the search operation continues. The police stated that a final conclusion will be drawn only after a thorough examination of the entire premises.
Notably, there has been a rise in bomb threats in Rajasthan recently. On April 28, the Rajasthan Assembly also received a bomb threat, leading to several hours of search operations, but no suspicious items were discovered. Additionally, on April 13, both the High Court and Sessions Court received similar threats, which also yielded no findings. In light of these ongoing threats, security agencies have heightened their vigilance.
