U.S. Launches Major Strikes on Iran Following Apache Helicopter Incident

Washington, June 10: The United States has resumed its military strikes against Iran. This action follows the downing of an American Apache helicopter by Iranian forces just a day prior. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the operations.

President Donald Trump stated in an interview with ABC News that the strikes were “very powerful and very strong.” According to CENTCOM, the attacks commenced at 5 PM Eastern Time, which is 21:00 GMT, following the President’s orders.

Reports from Xinhua News Agency, citing Iranian media, indicated that several explosions were heard early Wednesday in southern Iran, particularly around Bandar Abbas, Kish Island, Sirik County, and Jask County. Iran’s air defense systems were reportedly activated in response.

The semi-official Tasnim news agency reported six explosions in Sirik, Kish Island, and the southern city of Minab, attributing these to U.S. fighter jets conducting strikes in the area.

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump accused Iran of shooting down a U.S. military helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that the U.S. would respond. He posted on Truth Social, “I just received information that last night the Iranians shot down our highly advanced Apache helicopter while it was patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz.”

Trump confirmed that both pilots aboard the helicopter were safe and unharmed, emphasizing the necessity for the U.S. to retaliate against the attack. Although the helicopter was downed, both crew members were successfully rescued.

The situation remains extremely delicate. Israeli military chief Eyal Zamir confirmed during a military exercise in northern Israel that recent attacks on Iran are merely preparations for a larger and more powerful assault. He stated that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are ready to act again if necessary, prepared to deliver another significant blow to Iran.

These U.S. strikes come at a time when Israel has also resumed attacks in southern Lebanon. The ongoing cycle of retaliatory strikes between Israel and Iran has heightened tensions throughout the region.
