Mumbai, March 28: Two police constables have been arrested in the Juhu area of Mumbai for allegedly kidnapping a delivery executive from a forex company and robbing him of $10,000. The stolen money has not yet been recovered.

Mumbai police officials reported that three other suspects remain at large and are currently being pursued. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sandeep Shinde (33) and Gajendra Rajput (40), both stationed at the Bandra-Kurla Complex and Jogeshwari police stations, respectively. They are accused of abusing their uniforms and positions to carry out this crime.

According to police, the incident occurred around 2 PM on March 25. The victim, who works as a delivery executive for a forex company in Bandra, was in Juhu to deliver foreign currency. During this time, the suspects forcibly abducted him in an Ertiga car near Juhu Circle. Inside the vehicle, they assaulted him and threatened to implicate him in a false case.

The suspects then took the victim to Dahisar, where they snatched a bag containing $10,000. Reports indicate that the victim was beaten throughout the ordeal. However, he managed to raise an alarm, attracting the attention of nearby residents. They informed the police, and a patrol team quickly arrived at the scene.

Seeing the crowd, the suspects attempted to flee, but police managed to apprehend one of them, while the other escaped amidst the chaos. Following the robbery report, senior police officials also arrived at the location, leading to the arrest of Gajendra Rajput from his home in Thane. Both suspects face serious charges, including kidnapping, extortion, robbery, and impersonating government officials.

Currently, police are reviewing CCTV footage and have formed multiple teams to locate the three absconding suspects. Authorities have assured that they will be apprehended soon.
