Valsad, September 24 (Daily Kiran) : In Valsad, authorities swiftly apprehended two suspects following a robbery incident early in the morning. The event, which occurred in the Dungria area of the Vapi taluka, involved an elderly woman who was injured when thieves forcibly removed her gold earrings.
According to police reports, the incident unfolded when two unidentified men, aged approximately 30 to 35, entered the backyard of the victim’s home and attacked her. They managed to steal gold earrings, bangles, and a chain valued at around ₹6.25 lakh before fleeing the scene.
The local police registered a case under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 309(4), 309(6), and 3(5), at the Dungria police station. Following the complaint, teams from the Valsad Local Crime Branch and Dungria police began reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity. They utilized human intelligence along with technical analysis and field verification to track down the suspects.
Police received a tip-off regarding the suspects from Head Constable Samrat Bhudarbhai at the Dungria police station. This led to the arrest of 45-year-old Rajesh Shukla, originally from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, who was residing in Dadra, Silvassa, and 21-year-old Vijaykumar Pal, who hails from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and lived in Moti Sulpad, Vapi.
Both suspects were apprehended with the stolen gold jewelry in their possession. During interrogation, they admitted their involvement in the crime, and the investigation is ongoing. The recovered items included two gold bangles, two gold earrings with a chain, and a gold chain, totaling ₹5,76,250, along with ₹2,160 in cash and two mobile phones valued at ₹20,000. Additionally, a rickshaw worth ₹1 lakh was seized, bringing the total value of the recovered items to ₹6,98,410. Authorities noted that the operation was conducted under the supervision of senior officials.
