Moga, September 24 (Daily Kiran) : In Moga, the Shiromani Akali Dal staged a protest against the Aam Aadmi Party government, focusing on the escalating drug problem in Punjab. Led by MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal, party workers marched and delivered a memorandum to the additional deputy commissioner.
During the demonstration, Badal criticized the state government for its inability to tackle the growing drug trade, which she claimed now includes home delivery services in various areas. She asserted that the government has failed to take effective action against this pressing issue.
Badal also called for an impartial investigation into corruption and police misconduct related to drug cases. She pointed to recent raids by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), accusing the government of hypocrisy. “This government, which boasts of its honesty, is now trying to evade scrutiny,” she stated, questioning why those in power were not cooperating with the investigative agency if they had nothing to hide.
Additionally, Badal made serious allegations regarding the Chief Minister‘s residence, claiming it has become a hub of corruption. She accused the Chief Minister’s officer on special duty and associates of orchestrating a significant corruption network.
She raised concerns about the lack of action against individuals linked to these serious allegations, asserting that audio and video evidence exists. In a separate statement in Bathinda, Badal also criticized the government for its plans to sell approximately 5,000 acres of land, warning of potential misuse of public funds and calling for an investigation into the matter.
Looking ahead, Badal promised that if the Shiromani Akali Dal returns to power in Punjab, it will investigate the alleged corruption and irregularities in government spending. She vowed that any individuals found guilty would have their assets confiscated, with the recovered funds returned to the state treasury.
