Thiruvananthapuram, September 24 (Daily Kiran) : Kerala BJP President and MLA Rajeev Chandrasekhar raised concerns on Thursday regarding the absence of a First Information Report (FIR) in the CMRL-Exalogic transaction case. Despite the Enforcement Directorate (ED) providing evidence to the state government, no FIR has been filed.
Chandrasekhar highlighted serious allegations against CMRL, claiming it paid Exalogic without receiving any services in return. He emphasized that these allegations are linked to a company associated with former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter, T. Veena.
“This is a grave accusation of political corruption that warrants a thorough investigation,” he stated. He questioned why the state government has not registered an FIR or ordered a vigilance inquiry into the matter.
He further remarked, “If the allegations are baseless, the investigation should clarify that. So why is the state government hesitating to file an FIR?”
Chandrasekhar also referred to reports suggesting that Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan’s name appeared in CMRL’s diary. He insisted that Satheesan clarify whether he received any amounts recorded in that diary.
“This question must be answered by the Chief Minister himself. If the charges are unfounded, let the investigation proceed and reveal the truth,” he added.
Additionally, Chandrasekhar criticized the state government’s performance after 150 days in power, questioning whether the current United Democratic Front (UDF) government is continuing the alleged corruption and unfulfilled promises of the previous Left Democratic Front (LDF) administration.
“What has Kerala gained after Pinarayi Vijayan’s promise to fix everything in ten years?” he asked. He pointed out issues such as corruption allegations, lack of development, unemployment, and rising inflation.
Chandrasekhar accused the UDF government of perpetuating the political and administrative practices of the previous LDF government. He also mentioned controversies surrounding the use of a Range Rover and private jets, questioning whether this is all the government has to show after 150 days in office.
He concluded by asserting that corruption allegations should be investigated according to the law, not resolved through political compromises.
