Jammu, September 24 (Daily Kiran) : BJP leaders Ranbir Singh Pathania and Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj have strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi‘s recent comments regarding the Election Commission and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of undermining constitutional institutions and creating confusion among voters.
Pathania stated that it has become a habit for Congress and Gandhi to disrespect institutions and mislead the public. He referenced a report indicating that while the initial situation appeared serious, the Election Commission later clarified that decisions were made collectively by all three election commissioners. He emphasized that any disagreements among the commissioners should be viewed as part of the democratic process, rather than exaggerated into a major controversy.
Addressing Gandhi’s allegations of electoral fraud and vote theft, Pathania remarked that Congress’s diminishing support base is leading to its refusal to accept electoral defeats. This frustration, he argued, is behind Gandhi’s statements. In response to Gandhi’s call for Kumar’s resignation and claims of possessing substantial evidence, Pathania asserted that India operates under the rule of law. He cautioned against tarnishing the reputations of institutions like the Election Commission, Supreme Court, CAG, CBI, and ED, urging that any evidence against officials should be presented through the appropriate legal channels.
Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj echoed these sentiments, sharply criticizing Congress for its history of corruption before making accusations against others. He cited infamous cases such as Bofors, 2G, and Commonwealth, suggesting that Congress should reflect on its past. Bhardwaj insisted that responsible leaders should base their statements on facts and legal processes. He stated that if Gandhi has evidence, it should be submitted through the proper legal forums, as one cannot be deemed guilty based solely on statements.
On the issue of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Pathania reiterated India’s claim, asserting that the region is an integral part of India. He referred to the merger of Jammu and Kashmir with India by Maharaja Hari Singh, arguing that Pakistan’s control over the area is illegitimate. He highlighted that the Indian Parliament’s unanimous resolution recognizes this territory as part of India, aligning with the sentiments of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Bhardwaj also affirmed that Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir is a part of India and that India will continue to assert its claim over the region in the future.
