ITAT Recruitment 2026: Apply Now for 42 Positions Including Senior Private Secretary

Mumbai, August 5: The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), a quasi-judicial body operating under the Ministry of Law and Justice, has invited applications from eligible citizens to fill a total of 42 vacancies for Senior Private Secretary and Private Secretary positions across its various benches.

The recruitment includes 22 positions for Senior Private Secretaries and 20 for Private Secretaries. Among the 22 vacancies for Senior Private Secretary, there is 1 position for SC, 5 for ST, 4 for OBC, 5 for EWS, and 7 for General categories. For the 20 vacancies of Private Secretary, there are 5 positions for SC, 2 for ST, 3 for EWS, and 10 for General categories. Candidates should note that there is a possibility of an increase in the number of vacancies.

The online application process for both positions commenced on July 18 and will close on August 16. Interested candidates can submit their registration forms on the official ITAT website before the deadline.

Applicants must possess a graduation degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution or university. Additionally, candidates should have a typing speed of 120 words per minute in English shorthand and working knowledge of computers, including proficiency in software like Microsoft Office, Excel, or PageMaker.

The maximum age limit for applicants is set at 35 years, calculated as of the application deadline. However, candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations. Selection of eligible candidates will be based on a written examination, skill test, and personal interview. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100 for the Senior Private Secretary position and ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 for the Private Secretary role. Additional benefits and allowances will also be provided.

The written examination and skill tests will be conducted at nine different centers, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad.
