Trump Dismisses Reports of Iranian Plot to Assassinate Him

Caracas, July 11: U.S. President Donald Trump dismissed recent reports claiming that Israel had informed the U.S. about an Iranian plot to assassinate him.

On Friday, Trump stated that if Iran were to succeed in any assassination attempt, he had already issued necessary directives. He remarked, “I have been number one on Iran’s hit list for a long time, and that’s just how life is. I have given clear instructions that if anything happens to me, Iran will face a level of bombing it has never seen before.”

Earlier on the same day, Trump mentioned that despite informing Iran about the end of a ceasefire, the U.S. would continue discussions with Tehran.

Meanwhile, reports from The Wall Street Journal and CNN indicated that Israeli intelligence agencies recently warned the U.S. about a new plot by Iran to assassinate President Trump. Just hours after these reports emerged, Trump publicly acknowledged that he is a “top target” for Tehran and defended his administration’s military actions against Iran.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Israel had shared intelligence with the U.S., suggesting that Iran was considering a new plan to assassinate Trump. If proven true, this would significantly escalate tensions between the two nations.

CNN, citing two sources related to the matter, noted that Israel had conveyed this warning to U.S. officials. However, the U.S. had not independently verified this intelligence before receiving information from Israel.

In response to inquiries about these reports, the White House referenced Trump’s recent statements to both news organizations. Trump had stated during a NATO summit that he remains a primary target for Tehran.
