Washington, March 28: President Donald Trump stated that Iran has become significantly weakened and is now open to negotiations. He made these remarks during a press conference at the White House and in a speech delivered in Miami.
After disembarking from Air Force One, Trump told reporters, “Iran is weakening. We are now in discussions. They want to make a deal. Our military force is the most powerful in the world.”
He suggested that Iranian readiness for talks is a result of U.S. pressure, although he did not provide details on how or when these discussions would proceed.
In a separate address at the ‘Future Investment Initiative Priority Summit’ in Miami, Trump assessed the situation, claiming that Iran has been severely weakened due to U.S. military operations. He stated, “We are dismantling Iran’s arsenal, destroying their missile and drone factories at levels never imagined, and completely obliterating their defense industrial base.”
Trump asserted that Iran’s military capabilities have suffered significant damage. According to him, Iran’s navy is nearly destroyed, its air force is rendered ineffective, and its air defense and communication systems are in disarray.
He also claimed that many high-ranking Iranian leaders have been killed, and the country’s top leadership is no longer what it once was.
Describing the entire campaign as a major success, Trump noted that the U.S. has achieved its military objectives ahead of schedule. He remarked, “We accomplished the goals we set four weeks ago two weeks early.”
He reiterated that Iranian pressure has forced them to engage in negotiations and that they are attempting to reach an agreement.
Trump linked this military operation to broader strategic goals, including preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons and reshaping regional security dynamics. He stated, “As President of the United States, I will never allow the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism to acquire nuclear weapons.”
Overall, Trump believes that continuous military action has weakened Iran, thereby opening the door for negotiations.
