Trump Claims Global Tariff Policy Boosts American Prosperity

Washington, August 22: President Donald Trump has credited his global tariff policy as a key factor in America’s prosperity. He asserted that these tariffs have led to increased wealth in the U.S. and compelled foreign companies to relocate their manufacturing operations to America.

Speaking at a Republican rally in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Trump highlighted tariffs as one of his preferred policies. He stated that they generate revenue for the government and create jobs for American citizens.

“This is my favorite word. I love tariffs. I like the word. It has made us incredibly rich,” Trump remarked.

He explained that tariffs present foreign companies with a clear choice: pay additional fees on goods exported to the U.S. or manufacture those products within the country.

Using foreign automakers as an example, Trump said, “I tell them, ‘You will have to pay a 25% tariff.’ They respond, ‘We can’t do that.’ Then I say, ‘That’s fine. Come to America and build your cars here.'”

According to Trump, this policy has resulted in record levels of investment in manufacturing and the automobile sector in South Carolina and other parts of the country.

He claimed that the U.S. had not built a new car factory in 40 years, but now they are establishing more plants and factories than ever before in history.

Trump stated that there is currently a total investment of $19.2 trillion in the U.S. However, he did not provide detailed information on this figure, such as the names of the investing companies or the time frame.

He emphasized that no other country has seen such investment levels at any time. Trump linked this investment to the rising number of jobs in the manufacturing sector, noting that hundreds, possibly thousands, of factories are being created nationwide.

He asserted that manufacturing jobs are rapidly increasing due to the establishment of these plants and factories.

The President claimed that the manufacturing sector is experiencing its fastest growth in years. He noted that since his election, the stock market has reached new record highs 80 times, and the average value of a typical retirement account has increased by nearly $40,000.

Trump also connected his economic arguments to the upcoming midterm elections in November. He warned that if the Democratic Party wins, their policies related to taxes, trade, and manufacturing will be reversed.

“Your taxes will go up. Your income will decrease. Your jobs will disappear,” he cautioned.

He urged his supporters to vote for Senate candidate Darlene Graham in the Republican runoff election on Tuesday, stressing the importance of maintaining Republican control in Congress to continue his economic agenda.
