
New Delhi, March 26: The nation remembers Mahadevi Verma, a leading poet of modern Hindi literature and a Padma Vibhushan awardee, on her birth anniversary. On this occasion, several central ministers, including Nitin Gadkari, and chief ministers from various states have paid their respects.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, expressed his homage, stating, “On the birth anniversary of the talented poetess and great writer Mahadevi Verma, honored with the Jnanpith and Padma Vibhushan awards, I bow in reverence.”
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan shared, “I pay my heartfelt homage to Mahadevi Verma Ji, a prominent pillar of the Chhayavad era in Hindi literature. Your timeless creations will always be the foundation of prosperity in the literary world.”
Union Minister of State for Finance and President of Uttar Pradesh BJP, Pankaj Chaudhary, shared some lines on Mahadevi Verma’s birth anniversary. He wrote, “They are not the smiling flowers that fade away; they are not the stars that enjoy extinguishing.”
In his post on X, he honored Mahadevi Verma, stating, “Her works will always inspire the spread of awareness regarding women in society and the direction of social reform.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath referred to Mahadevi Verma as a powerful voice for women’s identity and a renowned poetess of the Chhayavad era while paying tribute. In his post on X, he wrote, “Her works vividly depict the intimate dialogue between humanity and nature, conveying an eternal message of human sensitivity, compassion, and spiritual beauty.”
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also paid his respects, stating, “I respectfully honor the great freedom fighter and prominent pillar of the Chhayavad era in Hindi literature, Mahadevi Verma Ji, on her birth anniversary. Every word of her creations carries emotions that resonate deeply within the heart. These works are an invaluable heritage of the nation.”
