Tragic Incident in Ahmedabad: Two Lives Lost Near Narangpura Railway Tracks

Ahmedabad, March 4: A shocking incident occurred in the Narangpura area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, where two bodies were discovered near railway tracks on Tuesday. Authorities suspect that both individuals may have been struck by a train during the night.

The bodies were found around 11 AM near the Adarsh Nagar police station, causing panic in the area. Local residents alerted the police after spotting the bodies near a railway crossing, prompting immediate action from both local police and the Government Railway Police (GRP), who began an investigation.

According to police reports, one of the deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Satyajit Shrimali, a resident of Narangpura. The identity of the second individual remains unknown, but he is estimated to be around 32 years old. Efforts are underway to identify the unidentified victim, and police are working to locate his family. Investigators are questioning residents in the vicinity and reviewing records of missing persons.

Inspector Vimal Dangar from the Vadj police station stated in an interview that preliminary investigations suggest the incident occurred at night. “At first glance, it appears that the incident happened during the night. The bodies were discovered around 11 AM,” he said.

However, he clarified that the exact circumstances surrounding how both individuals came to be on the tracks remain unclear. Inspector Dangar noted that possibilities such as suicide, accident, or other scenarios cannot be ruled out, and all angles are being thoroughly investigated.

In this case, police have registered separate cases of accidental death. Both bodies have been sent for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Officials indicate that the true nature of the incident will only become clear once the autopsy reports are received and the initial investigation is completed. Currently, police are reviewing CCTV footage from cameras near the railway tracks and are actively seeking eyewitnesses.

It is worth noting that a similar tragic incident occurred last month in Rajkot, Gujarat, when two individuals lost their lives and another was seriously injured after being hit by the high-speed Vande Bharat Express. This accident took place near the Maladhari level crossing between Bhaktinagar and Ribda railway stations in the Bhavnagar division while the train was on its scheduled route.

Reports indicate that three people were struck by the train. The frequency of such incidents has raised concerns about safety and awareness around railway tracks.
