Upon receiving the news, police, firefighters, and local officials rushed to the scene. After extinguishing the fire, the bodies were retrieved. At the time of the incident, the male members of the family were at the mosque for prayers.

Mohammad Farooq recounted, “They had gone for prayers when we received the alarming news from a neighbor about the fire. When we arrived, we learned that the family had been taken to the hospital. It was heartbreaking to find out that my daughter had died, along with my brother’s wife Rukhsar, my nephew Akdas, and my two twin daughters, Anamika and Inaya.”

SSP Avinash Pandey stated, “We received information about the fire at Haji Iqbal’s house around 8:49 PM on Monday. An emergency vehicle arrived within three minutes, followed by other officials and firefighters. Seven individuals trapped inside were taken to the hospital, where doctors declared one woman and five children dead. One injured woman is currently receiving treatment. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have been caused by a short circuit, and both the electricity department and fire brigade are conducting inquiries.”

District Magistrate VK Singh added, “We were informed of the fire in a residential building in Kidwai Nagar, Lisadi Gate, around 9 PM. Both the electricity and fire departments are investigating the cause. Initial reports indicate that the fire likely started from an electrical appliance and spread to the clothes stored in the house. A detailed investigation is ongoing, and we await the final report.”

SP MLA Rafiq Ansari mentioned, “We attempted to assist the family, but they declined any help, stating they wanted to manage everything on their own.”
