Bengaluru, March 28: A tragic incident has unfolded in Bengaluru, where a minor girl from Assam was found dead in the Electronics City police station area on Saturday. Her body was discovered in a secluded spot in the Bolugudda region. The young girl had been missing since Thursday evening.
The victim resided with her parents at a temporary shelter near Vittasandra. After a thorough search by her family, they reported her disappearance to the Electronics City police.
During a search operation, police located the girl’s body among a cluster of eucalyptus trees in Bolugudda. Authorities revealed that the body was found in a naked state, raising suspicions of sexual assault prior to her murder.
Reports indicate that the assailants had disfigured the girl’s face with a heavy object to prevent identification.
Upon learning of the incident, senior police officials rushed to the scene. The police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant laws.
Special teams have been formed to apprehend the suspects and gather intelligence. The investigation is currently ongoing.
Earlier in March 2026, a 17-year-old girl was murdered by her fiancé in the DJ Halli area of Bengaluru. The suspect has been arrested.
In another disturbing case from October 2025, a 10-year-old girl from a nomadic family selling balloons in Mysuru was raped and murdered near Dodda Kere Maidan. The police apprehended the suspect, Karthik, after shooting him in the leg.
