
Prayagraj, March 23: A tragic incident occurred in Prayagraj when a cold storage building collapsed, resulting in the deaths of four workers. The collapse led to an ammonia gas leak, causing panic in the surrounding area. Rescue teams and police are currently working to save workers trapped under the debris, and a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has also been deployed. Both Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have expressed their condolences regarding the incident.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak described the Prayagraj incident as very unfortunate. He emphasized that the priority is to ensure that the injured receive the best possible treatment. All hospitals have been put on alert, and arrangements for medical care are being made. The government stands with those affected.
Ministers Rakesh Sachan and Om Prakash Rajbhar have also reacted to the incident, stating that an investigation will be conducted, and action will be taken against anyone found responsible.
Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal expressed his sorrow over the incident, noting that the Chief Minister has taken cognizance of the matter. He assured that those responsible will face consequences and extended condolences to the victims and their families.
Minister Narendra Kumar Kashyap called the event extremely tragic and confirmed that the government is closely monitoring the situation.
Police Commissioner Jogendra Kumar stated that the incident was caused by the roof of the cold storage collapsing. Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are engaged in relief and rescue operations. A team from NDRF has already arrived from Varanasi. Sixteen individuals have been sent to the hospital, with four confirmed dead and twelve others injured.
The police commissioner revealed that the cold storage belongs to Ansar Ahmed and was constructed carelessly, leading to this disaster. The District Magistrate will form a committee to investigate the incident, and police action will follow.
District Magistrate Manish Verma confirmed the death toll, stating that four workers lost their lives in the cold storage accident, while twelve others sustained injuries.
