Tragic Bus Fire on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Claims Eight Lives

Dausa, July 1: A devastating accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Dausa district has resulted in the tragic deaths of at least eight individuals. Over 20 passengers sustained injuries and have been transported to Dausa District Hospital for treatment.

Authorities reported that a severe collision occurred between a bus and a truck in the Kolwa police station area of Dausa. The impact was so intense that both vehicles caught fire immediately after the crash, leading to chaos at the scene.

Emergency services were alerted, and fire engines from Dausa and Bandikui rushed to the location to extinguish the flames. Police officials and rescue teams also arrived promptly to assist with relief efforts.

It has been revealed that the tourist bus was en route from Haridwar to Indore, carrying approximately 37 pilgrims. Most passengers managed to escape the fire, but some were trapped inside due to the extensive damage to the vehicles, resulting in fatalities. Reports confirm that eight individuals lost their lives, while 22 others were injured, with four passengers reported safe.

SP Piyush Dixit stated that the bus belonged to Hans Travels Indore and that the truck was completely empty. Both vehicles were traveling on a straight stretch of the road. It is suspected that the collision occurred when one vehicle attempted to overtake another.

Dixit further noted that six victims died from burns, while two others succumbed to head injuries. The condition of the remaining injured individuals is stable.

Following the accident, Congress MP Murarilal Meena visited the site. He expressed his condolences, saying, “I pray to God to grant peace to the souls of those who lost their lives and to give strength to their families.” He added, “As per the information received so far, eight people have died, several others are injured, and many are receiving treatment at Dausa District Hospital. To prevent such incidents in the future, the government should form a committee to study the causes of accidents on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.”
