Tragic Accident on Mumbai-Goa Highway Claims Three Lives, Including Two Women

Ratnagiri, July 15: A tragic accident on the Mumbai-Goa Highway in Ratnagiri district has resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including two women. Two others sustained severe injuries and have been admitted to the Lanja Rural Hospital.

Preliminary reports indicate that the incident occurred in the Lanja area of Ratnagiri. Members of a family from Agripada, Mumbai, were returning from a trip to Goa when their vehicle collided with a stationary dumper near the Lanja rest house, leading to a horrific crash.

The impact was so intense that the Creta car was completely mangled. The scene quickly turned chaotic, with local residents and passersby rushing to assist the injured. Emergency services were notified, and police arrived shortly after to transport the injured to the hospital while securing the bodies.

The deceased include two women and a young man, while two other passengers remain hospitalized in critical condition. Authorities are currently working on further investigations and are attempting to identify the victims and contact their families.

Earlier this week, another accident occurred on the Yeola-Nandgaon State Highway in Nashik district, where a private luxury passenger bus overturned. One passenger died at the scene, and five others were seriously injured. At the time of the accident, the bus was carrying approximately 25 to 26 passengers.

Reports suggest that the bus was navigating through a hilly area when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to flip over.
