Mumbai, August 29: The installation of gantries for CCTV cameras under the Intelligent Traffic Management System is set to begin on the Hinduhardyasamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Highway. Consequently, a phased temporary traffic block will be implemented between the Sinnar Interchange and the Igatpuri Interchange.
According to a notice from the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), the traffic restrictions will occur in two phases. During this time, vehicle movement in both directions towards Mumbai and Nagpur will be completely halted for specified periods.
In the first phase, traffic will be blocked between the Sinnar Interchange and the Bhivpur Interchange on August 31, September 1, and September 2. Traffic heading towards Mumbai will be stopped from 12 PM to 1 PM, while traffic towards Nagpur will be halted from 3 PM to 4 PM.
The second phase will see traffic restrictions between the Bhivpur Interchange and the Igatpuri Interchange on September 4, 5, and 7. Again, traffic towards Mumbai will be blocked from 12 PM to 1 PM, and traffic towards Nagpur will be halted from 3 PM to 4 PM.
MSRDC has urged travelers and drivers to plan their journeys considering these scheduled times. Officials have advised starting travel with ample time to avoid potential delays during the work and to cooperate with the administration.
According to officials, this work aims to enhance the CCTV-based monitoring and ITMS system on the Samruddhi Highway, making traffic management, road safety, and emergency response more effective in the future.
