TMC Built on Corruption, Should End Quickly: Dilip Ghosh

Kolkata, June 4: West Bengal Cabinet Minister Dilip Ghosh has accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of alienating the public. He stated that the party was founded on corruption and looting, emphasizing that its swift demise would be beneficial.

In a conversation, Ghosh remarked, “This party was established on the basis of looting. The sooner it ends, the better. Other parties with similar foundations should also dissolve quickly.”

He further asserted that TMC stands solely on corruption. “We have previously stated that the day TMC loses, that will be the end of the party. It was bound to happen.”

Ghosh mentioned the internal discord within TMC, noting that party leader Mamata Banerjee called a meeting, but no one attended. “Why didn’t they come? That’s for them to address; it’s not my responsibility. The public has entrusted us with power for development, and I am focused on that. What the opposition does is their decision.”

Regarding the interest of TMC legislators in joining the BJP, Ghosh made it clear that the door is firmly shut. “I have locked it tightly. I anticipated this situation. Now, no one should accidentally come in, as I have suffered losses before. The door remains closed for now; we will see what the future holds. We have received many applications to join the BJP, but the door remains shut.”

Minister Ghosh discussed the panchayat system, stating, “The panchayat system is a very ancient institution in our country. Since ancient times, it has been used to resolve village issues and promote development. This tradition has continued. Previously, there were ‘panch pradhans’; today, we have panchayats. Representatives from four different castes, including tribal communities, would come together to manage village affairs, solve problems, and foster development.”

Discussing the challenges in Bengal, Ghosh pointed out that while there are many issues, the biggest problem is TMC itself. “The people have taken charge of that; we will address the remaining issues.”
