Srinagar, August 4: Tasleema Akhtar, the chairperson of the Kashmir Terror Victims Organization, has called for solidarity with the people of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). She expressed concern over the actions of Pakistan and stated that it is time to integrate PoJK with India.
In light of the rising tensions and violence in PoJK, Akhtar emphasized the need to fight for humanity. “We must raise our voices for them so that they can receive justice. I appeal to the entire Jammu and Kashmir region to stand united on August 10 and support the peaceful protests of the PoJK people,” she said.
Akhtar highlighted the struggles faced by the people of PoJK since 1947, noting that the Pakistani government and military have continuously committed atrocities. “The patience of the PoJK people has worn thin. When they raise their voices for their demands, Pakistani soldiers respond with gunfire. The cries of the PoJK people are being heard around the world,” she added.
She further stated, “It is now time to free the PoJK people from the clutches of the Pakistani government and military. Pakistan desires the land of PoJK, not its people. The residents are pleading for help. Therefore, it is time to integrate PoJK with Indian Kashmir.”
Akhtar also criticized the Pakistani military for creating graveyards from Rawalakot to Mirpur. “Look at the elections in Muzaffarabad; they are neither transparent nor fair. For God’s sake, let your people live. Acknowledge the rights they are demanding; they are asking for their legitimate rights, not alms. This is their land, and they have a right to it.”
