Ayodhya, August 4: A new Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed under the Supreme Court’s directives, is expected to arrive in Ayodhya on Tuesday to probe the theft of donations at the Ram Temple. The SIT will conduct a thorough investigation into all aspects of the case and prepare a report based on the evidence collected.
The SIT will be led by IG Kiran S from the Lucknow range. It includes DIG Somen Verma from Ayodhya, SSP Gaurav Grover, and ASP Ritesh Kumar from Barabanki. An auditor will also be part of the team to examine financial transactions and records. This new SIT will coordinate with the previous team to reinvestigate the donation theft case at the Ram Temple.
The SIT will meticulously review the temple’s security arrangements, record-keeping, banking processes, and other relevant documents.
Sources indicate that during the investigation, the SIT may question officials, staff, and other individuals associated with the temple trust. Additionally, they will examine CCTV footage, bank records, and documents related to the donations. The SIT has issued notices to around 200 individuals connected to the temple’s management, instructing them to remain in Ayodhya and not leave the district.
Following the Supreme Court’s order, this new SIT aims to conduct a fair and transparent investigation into the entire matter. Based on the findings, the roles of those responsible will be determined, and necessary legal actions will be taken.
It is noteworthy that the investigation into the alleged theft of donations at the Ram Temple has gained momentum after the Supreme Court’s directive. The formation of the new SIT is expected to expedite the process. It is believed that the SIT may also question former trustee Anil Mishra in connection with the investigation.
Statements from bank employees responsible for counting the donations have already been recorded. The process of taking statements from officials associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has now begun.
