Three Arrested in Bengaluru for Robbing Kerala Trader of ₹20 Lakhs

Bengaluru, June 20: Three individuals, including a CID police inspector, have been arrested in connection with the robbery of ₹20 lakhs from a trader from Kerala in the Madiwala area of Bengaluru. The police have filed charges of robbery, assault, threats, and criminal conspiracy against the suspects and have initiated an investigation.

According to police officials, 40-year-old Muhammed Muhin’s son, Junish Babu AK, filed a complaint at the Madiwala police station on the morning of June 19. He reported that he had arrived in Bengaluru with two friends on June 15, 2026, and was staying at the White Stone Lodge in Madiwala.

Junish Babu informed the police that an acquaintance named Naveen had encouraged him to invest in a trading scheme that promised high returns in a short period. Trusting this information, he brought ₹20 lakhs in cash to Bengaluru for the investment.

During this time, it is alleged that several individuals conspired in advance and attacked Junish Babu. The assailants assaulted him, threatened him, and fled with the ₹20 lakhs in cash. After the incident, the victim contacted the police and filed a complaint.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered at the Madiwala police station. The police have initiated an investigation under relevant sections for robbery, assault, criminal threats, and criminal conspiracy.

During the investigation, the police apprehended three suspects involved in the case. The arrested individuals have been identified as Kuppendra Reddy, Vasant Kumar, and CID police inspector Mahesh Kanakgiri. Authorities are also probing whether there was a premeditated conspiracy to lure the victim to Bengaluru under the guise of the trading scheme.

Police are currently interrogating the suspects and continuing to investigate other potential aspects of the case. Officials state that further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
