Mumbai, June 10: Tensions continue to escalate in Dahanu, located in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, following an alleged ‘Love Jihad’ incident. In response to the situation, the Sakal Hindu Samaj has called for a shutdown in Dahanu on June 10. This announcement has intensified political and social activity in the area.
Local Hindu organizations and citizens are expressing their discontent regarding the incident. They are demanding a thorough and impartial investigation, along with strict action against those responsible. In light of the shutdown call, local authorities have heightened their vigilance and are taking necessary precautions to maintain law and order.
Meanwhile, BJP legislator Chitra Wagh has decided to address the issue publicly. She will hold a press conference at the BJP office in Dahanu on June 10 at 12:30 PM, where she is expected to discuss various aspects of the case.
Previously, Wagh had urged Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter. Following her request, the Chief Minister instructed the state’s Director General of Police to establish an SIT for a comprehensive investigation.
According to government sources, the police administration has been directed to approach the investigation with sensitivity, ensuring that it is conducted fairly and transparently.
Local authorities have also tightened security measures to prevent any untoward incidents. Preparations are underway to increase police presence and monitor sensitive areas in anticipation of potential protests and the shutdown.
Currently, the situation remains a topic of discussion at both political and social levels. All eyes are on the proposed Dahanu shutdown and the upcoming press conference by the BJP legislator.
