Hyderabad, July 21: Telangana’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudhakar Reddy has directed all District Electoral Officers (DEOs) to expedite the digitization of enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026. This initiative aims to effectively utilize the available time to meet the set deadlines.
In a review meeting conducted via video conference with additional CEO Vasan Venkatashwar Reddy, Deputy CEO G.S. Chari, the Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), and all state DEOs, the CEO emphasized the importance of timely completion of tasks.
He instructed that Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), BLO supervisors, and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) should regularly monitor activities related to SIR to ensure all processes are completed on schedule. Transparency and proper documentation in meetings with political parties were also highlighted.
The CEO specifically called for a focus on urban areas and assembly constituencies where progress has been relatively slow. He stressed the need to ensure that all VVIP and VIP voters are included in the electoral rolls.
Furthermore, he clarified that if a voter has submitted their enumeration form online, the BLO should not request a physical form. He also instructed that the submission of forms should not require an Aadhaar card.
Officials were urged to provide every possible assistance to voters in submitting forms, promptly address their complaints, and carefully verify cases of absent, transferred, and deceased (ASD) voters to maintain accurate records.
The CEO called for strengthening regional monitoring systems and enhancing coordination with supervisory officials to facilitate the smooth completion of SIR-2026. He also mentioned that the rationalization process of polling stations should be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
During the meeting, he reviewed unmapped voters, polling stations with less than 50% progress, and forms that have not yet been collected. He instructed all DEOs to ensure that over 90% of the enumeration process is completed in their respective districts by the end of this week and to conduct thorough verification of voters in the “No Mapping” category.
The CEO urged all officials to work collaboratively to complete the SIR-2026 process in a timely and successful manner. Members of the nodal officer and technical team were also present during the video conference.
