Hyderabad, May 30: The Cyberabad Police have uncovered a significant land scam involving fake government orders, leading to the arrest of three individuals.
According to police reports, the accused created fraudulent government orders to illegally sell approximately 10 acres of government land in Gandipet, valued at around ₹1,500 crores.
Former YSR Congress Party MLA Bola Brahma Naidu has been named as a suspect in the case and is reportedly on the run. The arrested individuals include Nimmala Rajesh Goud, Nimmala Venu Gopal, and Nimmala Sai Kiran, who were taken into custody on Friday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ch. Srinivas revealed that a complaint was lodged on May 23 by Tehsildar Srinivas Reddy from the Gandipet Mandal in Ranga Reddy district. The complaint alleged the creation of fake and fabricated government orders that were circulated via WhatsApp groups and other social media platforms, falsely claiming that government land located at survey number 18 had been regularized and allocated to private individuals. The forged documents included copies of five fake government orders.
Based on this complaint, a case was registered at the Narsingi Police Station in Cyberabad.
During the investigation, searches were conducted at the homes of the accused, Nimmala Venu Gopal, Nimmala Ramachandra, and Nimmala Rajesh. The police seized bank passbooks, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) documents, mobile phones, and a laptop during these searches.
The investigation revealed that the Nimmala family, claiming to be the heirs of the late Dasharath from Gandipet village, had allegedly laid claim to approximately 10 acres of government poramboke land at survey number 18. Subsequently, the family members filed petitions against the revenue department seeking relief, but the High Court dismissed their petitions in October 2025.
Despite the dismissal of their claims and lacking any legal ownership or rights to the government land, the accused allegedly conspired with Bola Ramesh and Brahma Naidu to present themselves as the rightful owners and sold the land at a rate of ₹3.5 crores per acre. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Nimmala family members and Bola Ramesh and Brahma Naidu, resulting in undue loss to the government.
The investigation also uncovered that the Nimmala family received approximately ₹4 crores from the other party regarding the proposed land deal. Allegedly, individuals named Sunil, Radhakrishna, and others acted as intermediaries in this conspiracy and are currently at large.
