Hyderabad, August 30: The Telangana Golconda Masters 2026 will take place from September 1 to 4 at the Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA), featuring 132 golfers. This prestigious event is organized by the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (DP World PGTI), the official governing body for professional golf in India, with support from Telangana Tourism and HGA.
The tournament is promoted by the Telangana Tourism Development Corporation and HGA. The venue spans 212 acres and includes an 18-hole, 6017-yard, par-70 layout, complete with a flood-lit driving range, pro shop, golf fitting shop, and training facilities. The modern clubhouse features a dining hall, lounge, open deck, changing rooms, and a trained staff.
Top Indian professionals participating include DP World PGTI Order of Merit leader Saptak Talwar, Honey Baisoya, Veer Ahlawat, Rashid Khan, Akshay Sharma, and Om Prakash Chouhan.
Notable international competitors include reigning champion Jamal Hussain from Bangladesh, his compatriot Badal Hussain, Stepan Danek from the Czech Republic, N. Thangaraja and Mithun Perera from Sri Lanka, Subhash Tamang from Nepal, Joshua Seal from Uganda, and Koichiro Ishika and Taiga Tanaka from Japan.
Local challenges will be led by Hyderabad professionals Mohammad Azhar, Vishesh Sharma, and Rupinder Singh Gill.
This tournament is part of the ‘Race to DP World India Championship,’ a competition aimed at selecting the ‘number one’ player in DP World PGTI. It will also determine the top 24 players based on the DP World PGTI Order of Merit who will qualify for the championship at the end of the season.
