Hyderabad, March 29: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to take measures for the expansion of ghats at major temples and tourist sites for the upcoming Godavari Pushkaram next year.
He chaired a review meeting to discuss development plans for significant temples and Pushkar ghats located along the Godavari river basin, stretching from Basara to Bhadrachalam.
The meeting focused on specific tasks that need to be completed by June 2027 in preparation for the Pushkaram. Officials presented a PowerPoint presentation outlining the plans for the Pushkaram preparations.
According to the Chief Minister’s office, Revanth Reddy provided several suggestions to the officials. He instructed them to form a committee of technical engineers to identify suitable locations for the Pushkaram event.
The Chief Minister directed this committee to conduct site visits and submit their report to the officials’ committee within 15 to 20 days. He emphasized that the officials’ committee should review the engineers’ report and forward it to the cabinet sub-committee along with comprehensive cost estimates.
He further stated that after approval from the cabinet sub-committee, the full cabinet would make the final decision regarding these plans.
The Chief Minister advised that the plans should be structured to prioritize both permanent and temporary works. To prevent coordination issues among various government departments, he ordered the establishment of a dedicated ‘war room’ at Praja Bhavan.
Additionally, he suggested taking steps to ensure that no problems arise concerning road infrastructure and connectivity between different areas.
During the meeting, officials presented the master plan for the development and expansion of the Sri Jnana Saraswati Temple located in Basara. The Chief Minister provided several suggestions regarding the master plan.
