Patna, August 19: Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition and RJD in Bihar, announced that his party will march to Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. The aim is to pressure the state government and raise concerns about students and youth regarding the ongoing issue of paper leaks.
Yadav criticized the state government for the deteriorating law and order situation. He claimed that a series of paper leaks and irregularities are affecting competitive examinations in the state.
He also demanded accountability from the state government regarding the alleged firing of AK-47 rounds by police at students protesting against paper leaks in Siwan last month.
Yadav stated that repeated incidents of paper leaks are tarnishing Bihar’s image. He highlighted complaints of paper leaks in various examinations, including matriculation, intermediate, and recruitment tests.
Referring to the Siwan incident, Yadav asserted that while students were fighting for their rights, the state government chose to respond with gunfire instead of listening to their grievances. He questioned who ordered the police to fire on the protesting students.
This issue has been raised with Bihar’s Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar, who has been asked why the state government has failed to ensure accountability.
Yadav noted that while one constable has been dismissed, no action has been taken against other responsible officials. He mentioned that the march to Raj Bhavan will see participation from students, teachers, coaching institute attendees, and all those frustrated with the opaque systems of examination and employment.
He also extended an invitation to leaders from other states to join this open march. Yadav criticized the state government’s promise of one million jobs, stating that the BJP-led government has not even provided one hundred thousand jobs.
Additionally, he targeted the state government over its prohibition policy, claiming it has completely failed, with reports of home delivery of alcohol. He remarked that while the Bihar government claims the ban is in effect, the ground reality tells a different story.
