Patna, April 18: Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition in the Bihar Assembly, has sharply criticized the ruling party regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill. He stated that the bill was introduced hastily while elections were ongoing in five states. The government aimed to carry out seat delimitation during this time.
In a media interaction, Yadav claimed that the ruling party was using the bill as a cover for its hidden agenda. He asserted that the bill was destined to fail. Yadav pointed out that the government was fully aware that it lacked a two-thirds majority, making it unlikely for the bill to pass. He suggested that the real intention was not to pass the bill but rather to see it fail.
Yadav accused the government of deliberately creating circumstances to blame the opposition. He remarked that these individuals treat women disrespectfully.
He further alleged that the ruling party was anti-women, questioning their understanding of women’s dignity. According to him, their only concern is to enhance their political image.
Yadav emphasized that the government’s true scheme was to conduct seat delimitation, which has now completely failed. He warned that after delimitation, their agenda would be to alter the Constitution, but he vowed to prevent this from happening.
Regarding a statement made by Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary about Nitish Kumar’s achievements, Yadav questioned why such remarks were necessary. He insisted that the Chief Minister should focus on delivering results instead of merely speaking. He also inquired whether any cabinet decisions had been made regarding the prohibition of alcohol.
