Patna, April 9: Tej Pratap Yadav, the president of Jan Shakti Janata Dal, has responded to remarks made by his younger brother and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav regarding Bihar. He emphasized that Tejashwi should not tarnish the state’s image.
In a media interaction in Patna, Tej Pratap stated, “Tejashwi is my younger brother, but he needs to be mindful of his statements. He should avoid comments that damage Bihar’s reputation.”
Tej Pratap expressed his displeasure over Tejashwi’s recent statement in Kerala, where he referred to Bihar as a “poor state.”
He countered this assertion, stating, “Bihar is not a poor state; it is rich.” He urged for a positive perspective on Bihar, insisting that such damaging remarks should not be made outside the state. “We were born here, and this is our identity,” he added.
Tej Pratap further remarked that those who speak ill of Bihar should refrain from doing so. “Bihar is not poor; it is rich in spirit. The youth here are wealthy at heart, and our people are proud. Tejashwi should avoid such statements. As my younger brother, I can only advise him,” he said.
He also noted that wealth is not solely defined by money but also by one’s heart.
Regarding Tejashwi’s role as the acting president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Tej Pratap stated, “Whether RJD will thrive under him is something he can determine. We are brothers, but he is no longer a child that I need to guide constantly. I am the national president of Jan Shakti Janata Dal. Who knows, he might even become the national president of RJD one day. If that happens, I will wish him well.”
He concluded by highlighting that political battles are separate from personal relationships.
It is noteworthy that during the recent Kerala Assembly elections, Tejashwi Yadav referred to Bihar as a poor state, prompting backlash from the ruling party.
