
Mumbai, March 3: The semifinals of the T20 World Cup 2026 are set to take place on March 4 and 5. India’s Nitin Menon has been included in the elite panel of match officials for these knockout matches.
The first semifinal will be held on March 4 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, featuring South Africa against New Zealand. Following this, India will face England in the second semifinal on March 5 in Mumbai. The winning teams will compete for the championship title on March 8 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
For the first semifinal, Richard Illingworth and Alex Wharf will serve as on-field umpires. Nitin Menon will be the third umpire, Rod Tucker will act as the fourth umpire, and Javagal Srinath will be the match referee.
In the second semifinal, Chris Gaffaney and Allahuddin Palekar will officiate as on-field umpires. Adrian Holdstock will be the third umpire, while Paul Reiffel will take on the role of fourth umpire. Andy Pycroft will serve as the match referee.

South Africa secured their semifinal spot by winning three consecutive matches in Super-8 Group 1, while Team India advanced with two wins out of three matches.
England topped Super-8 Group 2 by winning all three of their matches. New Zealand qualified for the next round after winning one out of three matches, with one match being washed out due to rain. Pakistan also earned three points but failed to qualify for the knockout stage due to a lower net run rate.
