Beijing, August 10: As the countdown begins for the 33rd informal summit of APEC leaders, passenger traffic at Shenzhen Port has seen a significant increase.
According to data from the General Station of Frontier Inspection in Shenzhen, over 5 million foreign travelers have entered and exited the port as of August 4. This milestone was achieved 58 days earlier than in 2025.
This year, China has continuously expanded its visa-free policy, contributing to the rising number of travelers at various Shenzhen ports. A total of 1.269 million foreign visitors have arrived in China under this visa-free policy, accounting for 50.9% of all foreign arrivals, which is a 47.5% increase from last year.
Reports indicate that by 6 PM on August 9, foreign travelers from APEC economies had made 3.501 million entries and exits at Shenzhen Port. This represents 67.3% of all foreign travelers, marking a 23.76% increase compared to the previous year.
