Cross-Border Tourism Thrives During Summer Season

Beijing, August 10: The summer season is now in full swing, marking a peak time for travel. Cross-border tourism and family trips have gained immense popularity. On August 8 and 9, a significant influx of visitors was observed at the Gongbei Port, located between Zhuhai in China’s Guangdong province and the Macau Special Administrative Region.

The number of travelers moving between Zhuhai and Macau has surged dramatically. According to data from the Gongbei border inspection station, approximately 850,000 crossings were recorded this week.

With the arrival of summer, various cultural tourism programs and consumption incentives have been organized in Macau, attracting numerous tourists from surrounding areas.

Data indicates that the busiest time for departures at Gongbei Port is between 9 AM and 1 PM. Many tourists head to Macau for sightseeing. Conversely, the peak return period occurs from 4 PM to 9 PM, significantly increasing pressure on customs clearance.
