Patna, July 11: Congress MP Ujjwal Raman Singh has launched a sharp critique against the central and Uttar Pradesh governments regarding the investigation into the Ram Temple donation fraud case. He emphasized that merely initiating a CBI inquiry or forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will not unveil the truth. Trust in these investigative agencies has waned, and only a probe supervised by a sitting judge of the Supreme Court can ensure an impartial investigation.
In an interview, Singh stated that whether it is a CBI investigation or the establishment of an SIT, these actions merely serve as a façade. He pointed out that past CBI investigations have yielded little to no results. “If someone needs protection, just hand the case over to these institutions, and they will shield them,” he remarked. Singh criticized the lack of concrete actions against individuals like Champat Rai Bansal, Anil Mishra, and Govind Dev Giri, who are under scrutiny. He insisted that FIRs should have been filed against these individuals, and legal actions should have followed. Such measures would bolster public confidence in the investigative process.
He further noted that the current situation has eroded public trust in both the SIT and the CBI. “Only if the investigation is conducted under the oversight of a sitting Supreme Court judge can there be a glimmer of hope for the public,” he added. Singh urged the Uttar Pradesh government to file immediate FIRs against the involved trustees and to preserve the available evidence. He expressed concerns that there is a prevalent fear among the public that evidence may be tampered with during the investigation. There is a growing belief that the SIT might be manipulating the evidence.
The Congress MP accused the government of attempting to suppress the case rather than facilitating a fair investigation. He warned that without the oversight of a sitting Supreme Court judge, uncovering the facts related to this case will be challenging.
