Mumbai: Actor Sunny Deol, who made his Hindi cinema debut with the film ‘Betaab’ opposite Amrita Singh, is currently in the limelight for his recently released movie ‘Border-2’.
The film has received an excellent response from both social media and movie theatres. Amidst this, the actor has opened up about the most challenging aspect of shooting films for him. Sunny Deol revealed that this particular difficulty even causes him to develop fever at times.
Sharing a clip from the shooting of ‘Border-2’, Sunny showed a moment when the cast and crew were sitting together due to heavy rain. The director, Anurag, asked him which song was the toughest to shoot from a filming perspective. Smiling, Sunny replied that all the songs were difficult, but the one involving dance was always the hardest for him. He admitted, “During the shooting of dance sequences, I often didn’t want to go to the set. Sometimes I had to convince myself for a whole day, and at times I even got fever, but in the end, I had to complete it somehow.” The candid admission caused everyone present to burst into laughter.
It is well-known that getting Sunny Deol to dance on set is a challenging task. Several choreographers in the industry have revealed how difficult it is to make him perform dance numbers. Sunny himself has acknowledged being very shy when it comes to dancing. While shooting the film ‘Chaalbaaz’ alongside Sridevi, he found dancing especially tough. He explained that Sridevi was an excellent dancer, which made him feel awkward dancing in front of her. During the same shoot, he even stayed away from the set for two hours and only agreed to perform a romantic song with Sridevi after much persuasion.
On social media, Sunny Deol’s dance moves have become a popular subject for memes. His iconic song ‘Yaara O Yaara’ still goes viral for its distinctive hook step. Another song, ‘Mera Dil Le Gayi O Kammmo Kidhar’, is often humorously compared to a workout session rather than a dance performance. Fans say it looks like he is exercising in the gym rather than dancing.
